It is with profound honor and great privilege that I welcome you to the 2026 SPE Europe Energy Conference, here in our magnificent city of Istanbul. Known as the bridge between continents, cultures, and ideas, Istanbul reflects the spirit of connection that also lies at the heart of EuropEC – a platform that, following the successful gatherings in Torino in 2024 and Vienna in 2025, has risen to become SPE’s foremost event for shaping the future of energy transition. We take great pride to be the host company of this flagship event.
The year 2025 was shaped mostly by geopolitical tensions, bringing many uncertainties to the world and the energy industry. Despite the challenges, we as Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) stay focused on strengthening the sustainability of our operations.
As the national energy company of Türkiye, we have a vital role in our energy independence and contribution to our national economy. We have a significant exploration and production portfolio of projects in Türkiye and in Azerbaijan, Iraq, Russia, Hungary and Somalia. Through these projects, our total hydrocarbon production reached an average daily of 270.000 barrels throughout 2025. Through our strategic partnerships, our energy professionals’ vision and technical expertise we aim to enlighten the regional energy arena.
This year, we will explore a wide range of important topics, including sustainable operations management, low-carbon energy solutions, efficient drilling and completion practices, digital transformation, the usage of artificial intelligence and talent development in our industry. Each of these themes presents valuable opportunities for shaping the future of our industry.
EuropEC 2026 will be more than a conference—it will be a platform for debate, collaboration, and inspiration. I invite you to take part fully, to exchange knowledge, to challenge ideas, and to build partnerships that will carry our industry forward.
