Abstract Submission and Speaking Opportunities
The Programme Committee invites you to submit an abstract to contribute and showcase your expertise to an international audience at the
SPE Workshop: Development and Utilisation of Underground Space
Submission Deadline: Friday, 26 June 2026
The Programme Committee will review all submitted abstracts and author/submitter will be notified of your abstract status by 15 July 2026.
The workshop will feature three core technical themes: construction and operation of natural gas underground storage; advancements in CO₂ flooding and storage technologies; and development of new-type underground storage (including other gases, oil, minerals, etc.). It will address critical challenges including subsurface uncertainty, storage capacity estimation, containment risks, regulatory and liability frameworks and economic viability.

Authors whose abstracts are shortlisted will be notified by SPE following the completion of the abstract review and selection process conducted by the workshop programme committee.
