SPE Workshop: Development and Utilisation of Underground Space

The Programme Committee will review all submitted abstracts and author/submitter will be notified of your abstract status by 15 July 2026. 

Technical Categories

The workshop will feature three core technical themes: construction and operation of natural gas underground storage; advancements in CO₂ flooding and storage technologies; and development of new-type underground storage (including other gases, oil, minerals, etc.). It will address critical challenges including subsurface uncertainty, storage capacity estimation, containment risks, regulatory and liability frameworks and economic viability.
