Balancing Power and Planet:

IOR/EOR Mastery Shaping a Sustainable Energy Landscape

Improved and Enhanced Oil Recovery (IOR/EOR) represents a pivotal innovation in unlocking untapped reservoir potential, especially within the context of a carbon-conscious landscape. By advancing more sophisticated techniques and strengthening conventional methods while seizing the opportunity to foster a learning curve for emerging approaches, previously unrecoverable hydrocarbons are now potentially feasible for monetisation.

Advanced techniques such as thermal injection, water flooding, polymer flooding, chemical agents, gas injection and other solutions to revitalise mature oilfields, increasing production rates and prolonging field life. These methods effectively address the limitations of conventional extraction, unlocking previously unrecoverable hydrocarbons. Through meticulous reservoir engineering and dynamic fluid manipulation, IOR/EOR optimises oil displacement, significantly increasing extraction efficiency while contributing to a greener and more sustainable energy environment.

This workshop will discuss conventional methods in IOR/EOR, which are equally important in strengthening the fundamentals against the backdrop of industry innovation within the evolving carbon-conscious framework. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from innovative approaches that involve a comprehensive technical lookback analysis, incorporating evolving strategies and new innovations. By drawing insights from diverse methodologies and experiences, the industry can refine and optimise conventional methods, ensuring a more robust and sustainable approach to hydrocarbon extraction.

COUNTDOWN TO THE EVENT!

ATTENDING THIS WORKSHOP SUPPORTS THE E&P INDUSTRY

The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is a not-for-profit organization. Income from this event will be invested back into SPE to support many other Society programs.

When you attend an SPE event, you help provide even more opportunities for industry professionals to enhance their technical and professional competence. Scholarships, certification, the Distinguished Lecturer program, and SPE’s energy education program Energy4me® are just a few examples of programs supported by SPE.
