Across Asia Pacific, more than 50% of producing fields are now in mature or late-life stages, with operators facing mounting challenges in maintaining production efficiency, managing asset integrity, and addressing growing decommissioning liabilities. Each year, billions are spent simply to sustain declining output, while new methane regulations and net-zero commitments intensify the pressure to extract more value with a smaller environmental footprint.
Despite access to decades of operational and production data, many brownfield assets continue to rely on reactive maintenance and isolated decision-making—limiting the ability to fully optimise recovery, cost, and sustainability outcomes. Today, however, digitalisation, data-driven asset management, and predictive technologies are reshaping how operators extend asset life, streamline operations, and transition ageing infrastructure toward lower-carbon opportunities.
