Artificial lift is at the heart of production across Asia Pacific, where mature fields and increasingly complex reservoirs are the norm. Yet unplanned lift-related failures still account for 10–15% of production losses, and a single failure in a mature well can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. While vast amounts of data are generated every day, much of it is not fully used to guide decisions, learn from past performance, or plan for the future.
This workshop is designed to connect experience, current operations, and emerging technologies across the full spectrum of artificial lift, including:
- Learning from past practices, current challenges, and future technology trends
- Gas lift systems, from conventional design to digital optimisation
- Electrical Submersible Pumps (ESP) and reliability-driven operations
- Surface artificial lift and integrated surface–subsurface operations
- Other artificial lift technologies and specialised applications
- Digitalisation, machine learning, and AI for surveillance, optimisation, and predictive maintenance
Through real field case studies, technology updates, and open discussion, operators, service companies, and researchers will share what works, what doesn’t, and what’s next. The focus is on practical, integrated lift management, using better data, smarter tools, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to move from reactive responses to predictive, performance-driven artificial lift, improving recovery, extending asset life, and reducing cost across the region
