Dear Colleagues,
It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 2025 SPE Annual Caspian Technical Conference, taking place on 25–27 November 2025 in Baku, Azerbaijan, a city with deep roots in the history of our industry.
As many of you know, the Caspian region is where modern oil production began. The world’s first mechanically drilled oil well was established in Baku in 1846, marking the start of an era that would transform global energy. Today, this same region continues to lead through innovation, resilience and collaboration, qualities that define both CTC and the professionals who attend it.
This year’s theme, “Learning from the Past, Rejuvenating Today, Inspiring Tomorrow,” encourages us to reflect on our legacy while embracing the challenges and opportunities ahead. From exploration and field development to production enhancement, digital transformation, decarbonization strategies and the evolving workforce of the future, CTC offers a platform to engage with the ideas shaping tomorrow’s energy industry.
Whether you are presenting technical work, participating in panels, mentoring students or building new relationships, your involvement makes this conference what it is: a collaborative space for learning, sharing and growing together.
We are deeply grateful to our Host Organisation, SOCAR, and to all committee members, sponsors and volunteers for their commitment to making CTC 2025 a success. Most of all, we thank you, our fellow professionals, for being part of an inspiring tomorrow.
We look forward to welcoming you to Baku for what promises to be an insightful, energising and future-focused edition of CTC.
Warm regards,
