Hawra Abdul Abbas is a Production Technologist with Shell Development Oman, specializing in Well, Reservoir & Facilities Management (WRFM) and production optimization, with over 12 years of experience in Oman’s oil and gas industry.

Her expertise spans tight gas well performance, production surveillance, integrated production optimization, well interventions, and maximizing value from complex operating conditions. In her current role supporting Block 10, she has led and contributed to innovative WRFM strategies addressing production challenges in solids-prone tight gas wells.

Hawra is a recipient of the DSW VP Award and has presented innovative technical solutions within Shell. Her latest work on an innovative acid-flush technique for choke restoration in solids-prone tight gas wells has been accepted for presentation at OPES 2026.

She holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering with Honours from Monash University and a Master of Engineering Project Management from the University of Melbourne.
