Panel Session: Digital Transformation and Predictive Maintenance: Leveraging Big Data, AI, and Automation for Asset Integrity

Tuesday, 29 April

Session Moderator: Matina Thammachart, Manager, Materials and Corrosion Section, Facility Engineering Department, PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Ltd.; Pruch Kijkla, Senior Corrosion Engineer - EFE, PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Ltd.

This session will explore how advances in predictive maintenance technologies are transforming the way companies approach asset integrity management. Real-time data monitoring has become a cornerstone of this transformation, offering actionable insights that enable timely interventions and improved decision-making. Case studies will highlight the successful implementation of AI and IoT solutions, demonstrating their effectiveness in predictive maintenance and monitoring technologies, particularly in corrosion management and asset integrity assurance.

However, the integration of these technologies into existing asset integrity management systems comes with challenges that demand strategic planning and execution. Companies must also navigate evolving regulatory standards, striving to maintain compliance while adopting innovative practices. The session will examine the profound impact of digital transformation, with AI and machine learning driving advancements in predictive maintenance, corrosion assessment and prediction, root-cause analysis, and failure detection.

Big data analytics is increasingly being used to optimise asset performance and minimise downtime, while automation in monitoring systems is enhancing real-time integrity management. Despite these promising opportunities, the adoption of digital technologies in the oil and gas industry remains complex, requiring deliberate strategies to overcome barriers and maximise the benefits of these innovations.
