Session 7: Hydrogen and Carbon Capture Operational Challenges and Other Considerations
Session Chairs: Roy Christensen, KT Project; Parnian Haghighat, Suncor
Hydrogen (H2) is produced by various methods and plays a crucial role in agricultural, chemical, and refining industries. It is envisioned as an alternative fuel blended with natural gas and stored underground in depleted gas fields. Carbon Capture (CC) also plays a critical role as an intermediate solution in the shift towards decarbonization. This session looks at the operational, non-technical, and technical challenges with H2 and CC that will determine future development opportunities and widespread adoption in Western Canada.
