Dr. Abhishek Punase serves as the Global Innovation Manager for Flow Assurance in the Application Development group at Clariant Oil and Mining Services and is based in The Woodlands, TX. He is responsible for leading the innovation projects related to flow assurance topics of asphaltenes, paraffins, and hydrates. Dr. Punase holds a doctoral and Master of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University at College Station, US and a Bachelor of Petroleum Engineering degree from Maharashtra Institute of Technology – Pune, India. Prior to his current role, Dr. Punase worked as a Flow Assurance Engineer and Senior Application Scientist positions within the Deepwater and Global Innovation teams of Clariant. In the last 10 years, Dr. Punase has contributed more than 35 technical papers, two patents and a book chapter to the scientific community. He has also peer reviewed numerous technical articles for international journals such as Energy and Fuel, British Journal of Science and Technology, SPE Production and Operations, and Journal of Applied Chemical Science International. Dr. Punase is a recipient of SPE Technical Reviewer Award twice over (latest in 2023) for his outstanding service to the editorial committee of peer review journals.
