Session 7: Driving Scalability and Efficiency in Mature Fields

13 Nov 2025

Chairs: Tony Edwards, Stepchange Global Consultancy Ltd; Guilherme Veloso, SLB

Mature fields hold significant untapped potential for value creation through digital innovation and strategic optimization. This session showcases real-world case studies and practical applications where Digital Transformation has revitalized legacy assets. Emphasis will be placed on the deployment of advanced technologies—such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, IIoT, and automation—to enhance reservoir performance, streamline logistics, optimize maintenance, and improve operational efficiency.
Crucially, the session will also explore how these digital strategies contribute to sustainability goals: reducing emissions, minimizing energy and water consumption, extending asset life, and supporting safer, more responsible operations. By embedding sustainability into digital workflows, operators can lower their environmental footprint while maintaining profitability and production targets.

Presentations:

  • Transforming Field Operations: AI- Driven Optimization for Smarter, Cleaner and More Profitable Reservoir Management
    Fernando Gutierrez, Tachyus
  • Using Permanent Field Instrumentation to Efficiently Model the Coupling of Pumps and Injector Wells
    Marcel Nogueira, Petrobras
  • Remote by Design: Leveraging ROCs for Real-Time Production Optimization
    Fred Clarke, Stepchange Global
  • Enhancing Remote Oilfield Operations Through a Centralized Integrated Operations Center
Dario Javier Gonzalez and Nicolas Brunini, Pan American Energy
