Dr. Murtaza Ziauddin is a Advisor-Stimulation at SLB, based in Sugar Land, Texas, with 29 years of industry experience. His research focuses on matrix stimulation in both sandstones and carbonates, as well as flow assurance challenges involving organic and inorganic scale formation.

Dr. Ziauddin’s publications include three SPE books, a book chapter, more than 45 technical papers, and 32 patents. He served as an SPE Distinguished Lecturer on carbonate acidizing during the 2015–2016 term and has been selected again for the 2025–2026 term.

He holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Ziauddin is recognized as a Distinguished Member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
