Håvard Brandt

Håvard Brandt

Senior Principle Consultant, DNV

Håvard Brandt has a M.Sc. degree in applied Mathematical and Statistical Modelling specialized towards risk and reliability analysis from the Technical University in Trondheim, Norway (NTH/NTNU). He completed his M.Sc. degree as part of an International Exchange program with the Technical University of Delft, the Netherlands. 

Håvard Brandt has more than to 20 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, and has worked on various projects throughout the world, including the North Sea, West Africa, Asia-Pacific, Brazil and the Gulf of Mexico. He has had a strong focus on Drilling & Well services and has detailed technical competence and experience related to drilling rigs, drilling equipment, drilling and well integrity. 

For more than six years, Håvard worked in the DNV office in Houston Texas, where he was actively involved in qualifying new dual gradient drilling systems. He was also actively engaged in well-integrity management initiatives, including API RP-90 on annular casing pressure management.  

Following the Gullfaks C well control incident for Statoil (Equinor) in 2010, Håvard was engaged in developing a risk-based work process to support well integrity evaluations during the well planning process. This developed into a training course which is still used in Equinor today. He has been actively involved in well integrity management projects, participated in industry forums and conducted well integrity audits. 

Håvard also spent four years in the DNV office in Singapore, working for the Oil & Gas Technology Centre. He was responsible for the services related to subsea and drilling and wells. During his carrier in Singapore, he was involved in a number of projects in Region Southeast Asia, including well integrity management work, rig inspection and advisory services.
