London has a rich history that spans centuries, from its foundation by the Romans to its role as the capital of the British Empire. Today, it is recognized as one of the world's most important political, economic, and cultural centres, boasting over 100 museums and a seemingly infinite variety of architectural styles, languages, and cuisines.

Event Venue and Accommodation 

We are thrilled to be hosting the 2024 edition at the Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars.

Registration fees do not include accommodation. However, SPE has negotiated a special room tariff with the Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars for delegates attending the workshop. Upon registration you will receive details on how to book directly through the hotel in a confirmation email.

Room rate: £320.00 per night incl. breakfast, taxes, and fees

Travel Information to the Venue

Via Plane

London Heathrow (LHR), London Gatwick (LGW), and London City Airport (LCY) are the most convenient airports.

  • From Heathrow, the fastest way to reach the hotel is via the Heathrow Express train to Paddington station, then take the Bakerloo Line tube to Embankment, and finally the District Line to Blackfriars. This journey should take about 1 hour.
  • From Gatwick, take the Gatwick Express train to Victoria station, then the Circle Line tube to Blackfriars. The total journey time is approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes.
  • From City Airport, take the DLR train to Canning Town, then the Jubilee Line tube to Westminster, and finally the District Line to Blackfriars. This should take around 40 minutes.

Via Train/Tube

The closest train station to the hotel is London Blackfriars.

Trains from all over Europe arrive at St Pancras International, where Eurostar services terminate. From St Pancras, it's a simple 15-minute journey on the Circle or District tube to Blackfriars.

Blackfriars Underground station is on the Circle and District lines, providing easy access from all over the city. For example, it's just a 12-minute journey from Liverpool Street, or 10 minutes from Victoria.

Via Coach/Bus

If traveling to London via Coach, there are 2 main operators:

  • National Express: This is a popular UK coach service with routes from various parts of the country to London. You can take a coach to Victoria Coach Station, then take the District Line to Blackfriars.
  • Megabus: Another coach service operating across the UK. They also run services to Victoria Coach Station.

If traveling from within London, there are many buses that pass close to the hotel, including numbers 4, 11, 15, 17, 23, 26, 76, and 100. The closest stop is 'Blackfriars Station'. Journey times will vary widely depending on traffic and your starting point.

Via Car/Taxi

If you're driving or taking a taxi, the address is Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars | 19 New Bridge St, London EC4V 6DB. Travel times will depend heavily on traffic conditions.

For reference, a taxi from Heathrow could take anywhere from 45 minutes to over an hour.
