The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and the Intervention and Coiled Tubing Association (ICoTA) will hold the 2021 Well Intervention Conference and Exhibition from 23-24 March 2021 in The Woodlands, Texas, USA. After canceling the 2020 meeting due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are already looking forward and preparing for our 2021 conference.
Well Interventions are a critical tool to maintain assets and optimize well performance for maximum return on investment. For the best outcome, a wide range of fit-for-purpose interventions and knowledge of how to apply the latest intervention technology to well candidates is required. It is our aim to provide the richest technical content directly related to interventions to facilitate the best performance. This conference will cover innovative solutions, case histories, technologies, and performance improvements across all sectors of the well intervention industry, including:
• Electric Wireline, Slick Line and Braided Line
• Coiled and Capillary Tubing
• Hydraulic Workover and Snubbing
E&P experts will share their knowledge on the performance and effectiveness of well intervention solutions and advancements through presentations, training courses, and the exhibit of services and products. Topics include technology and applications, offshore and onshore operations, HSE, and innovation. We aim to deliver the latest world-class relevant intervention information that can be used immediately to improve intervention value. In line with past conferences, and as a reflection of the recent challenging environment, we will continue to focus on increasing operational efficiencies, delivering more cost-effective solutions, and reducing non-productive time.
As we develop the technical program, we are looking for E&P professionals to share their knowledge and expertise which will help shape our event and the future of interventions. They will serve as technical experts by submitting a paper proposal. The Call for Papers process is open and submissions will be accepted through 4 August 2020.
Paper selections will be based on the technical and operational content, as well as the relevance to the conference and the industry. Potential authors are strongly encouraged to submit a detailed abstract by the 4 August 2020 deadline.
Returning for 2021 – the University Student ePoster Session will again be held at the 2021 conference. This session will focus on abstracts submitted by university students on any of the solicited topics with the opportunity to present their SPE papers at the conference. The abstracts will be evaluated peer-to-peer on several factors including: relevance of subject matter, importance of subject matter, technical information, and new or novel information provided.
We look forward to both E&P professional and student participation in this popular event.
