Mike Cargol is a 33-year veteran of the oil and gas industry with deep expertise in subsea well intervention, well control, and offshore operations. He began his career in the early 1990s and first entered the subsea intervention space in the early 2000s, working with in-riser subsea test tree systems. His experience progressed through riserless open-water abandonment using diver support, and into deepwater riserless light well intervention (RLWI), intervention riser systems (IRS), and advanced hydraulic tooling.
As Senior Vice President at Trendsetter, Mike leads global operations spanning intervention systems, subsea source control, rental assets, and aftermarket services. He is responsible for ensuring deployment readiness and performance across the company’s global equipment base.
Mike has overseen multiple industry milestones, including the deployment of the world’s first 20,000 psi Open Water Intervention Riser System. He has also led efforts in emergency response readiness, including major hurricane recovery, Arctic preparedness, and deepwater containment.
A named inventor on over 23 patents in subsea connection, intervention and capping technology, Mike is a recognized leader and advocate for advancing offshore capability through innovation, safety, and collaboration.
