Dear Colleagues,

As chair of the SPE Scale Symposium Programme Committee I would like to make you aware that this event will be returning to Aberdeen on 20–21 May 2026.

While our understanding of the factors that influence inorganic scale formation and control are constantly improving, more extreme environments for hydrocarbon recovery continue to emerge as we move deeper into the energy transition. These environmental challenges include physical properties such as high pressure/temperature, high total dissolved solids and high pH, location in the form of deep-water wells with complex subsea architecture, as well as unconventional long reach horizontal wells.
