Prof. Shirish Patil is Saudi Aramco Chair Professor in Department of Petroleum Engineering at KFUPM.  He has over 38 years of experience in phase behavior, EOR, and methane hydrates.  He served as Chairman of Petroleum Engineering and Director of the Petroleum Development Laboratory at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, USA and serves on numerous boards and societies. Shirish received his PhD in Mineral Resources Engineering from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.  A recipient of numerous awards and recognitions, he is recipient of the 2006 Alaska Engineer of the Year and SPE Distinguished Member awards. Currently, he serves as Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission Commissioner for ABET Inc., and on the Board of Directors for the SPE MENA region. In 2019, Shirish was awarded University of Alaska Fairbanks highest award for a retiring faculty, Professor Emeritus of Petroleum Engineering and Director Emeritus of Petroleum Development Laboratory.
