Khalil joined BP Oman as Project Geologist in 2010. His main contribution is in progression of Khazzan giant gas project from appraisal to development phase by 2014. Since then, he has been the geology discipline focal point for Oman within bp.

He is currently responsible for resources and development planning in Block 61.

Khalil graduated in geology from University of Leicester, UK in 2003. He joined Petroleum Development Oman in the same year and worked in deep gas exploration for 3 years. He then became the senior geologist in the gas development for Saih Rawl field.

He participated in the writing technical papers and presented in local, regional and global conferences. He chaired session in a number of conferences and was a member of the technical committee for some conference.
