Leigh Childs

Leigh Ann Childs is Manager of Midland Basin Development for ConocoPhillips, where she leads the subsurface development planning and implementation team for operated assets.
Since joining ConocoPhillips in 2007, Childs has held technical, planning, and leadership roles across conventional, unconventional, and heavy-oil assets. Her experience spans reservoir engineering, field development, business planning, reserves and forecasting, waterflood and enhanced recovery, reservoir simulation, major-project approval, and multidisciplinary program execution.
Prior to her current role, Childs led the Midland North reservoir engineering team. From 2017 to 2023, Childs held a variety of reservoir engineering positions in Alaska, supporting assets ranging from appraisal through late-life development. Earlier in her career, she held several Eagle Ford assignments focused on development implementation, base optimization, and business planning. She began her career supporting conventional waterflood assets in the Permian Basin.
Childs earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Mississippi State University.
