On behalf of SPE and the Conference Program Committee, we are pleased to invite submissions for the SPE Permian Basin Energy Conference, to be held 22–24 September 2026 in Midland, Texas, USA.
This conference serves as a premier platform for technical knowledge-sharing and the exchange of operational best practices aimed at optimizing well development, geological understanding, and operational performance in the Permian Basin. The conference will feature operator-led case studies, field-proven technologies, and innovative research and development which address:
- Enhancing well productivity and maximizing hydrocarbon recovery through advanced reservoir characterization and completion techniques.
- Optimizing capital efficiency with innovative well design, drilling, and operational strategies tailored to the unique geological complexities of the Permian Basin.
- Improving oil recovery across the lifecycle of drilling, completions, production, and enhanced oil recovery (EOR) methods.
- Advancing responsible operations, including emissions reduction, water management, and ESG best practices.
- Scaling field-wide development by integrating geological insights with operational excellence and accelerating the deployment of cutting-edge technologies.
- Driving portfolio optimization and strategic planning to maximize asset value and align development with corporate objectives.
This year, the conference will also highlight emerging industry trends and global energy needs—particularly focusing on advanced subsurface modeling, water management, field development, and well operations in unconventional reservoirs. Additionally, the role of technology in optimizing drilling, completions, and production will be explored. With a strong emphasis on field-proven results and operator insights, the technical program will prioritize operator-led presentations and case studies that integrate geology, engineering, and operational strategies to address the challenges and opportunities in the Permian Basin.
On behalf of the Conference Program Committee, we encourage you to contribute to this vital knowledge exchange by submitting an abstract before 7 April 2026. Your expertise and experiences are invaluable to shaping the future of Permian Basin operations.
