With over three decades of leadership in the energy industry, Dr. Aflah Al Hadhrami has a proven track record of driving strategic initiatives, solving complex challenges, and building high-performing teams. His extensive experience in the oil and gas sector has provided him with deep insights into energy resource management and the ability to effectively address the evolving demands of the industry.

His expertise spans managing complex projects on a national and international level, navigating regulatory challenges with a methodical and analytical approach, and safeguarding the interests of organisations and government through effective contracting management.

Dr. Aflah has hands-on experience in overseeing energy resource development and optimising operational efficiency. He is also highly skilled in engaging with diverse stakeholders, consistently maintaining professionalism and discretion, particularly when interacting with high-level investors and government officials.

Currently serving as the Managing Director of Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), Dr. Aflah has previously held key positions such as CEO of Integrated Gas Company SAOC, as well as other senior executive positions at British Petroleum Epsilon Ltd, Occidental Oil & Gas Inc, Schlumberger Oilfield Services LLC, Oman Refinery Company LLC, and Alshawamikh Oil Services SAOC. A strong advocate for innovation, he is dedicated to staying ahead of industry trends, especially in the realm of digitalisation, and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation within his teams.

Dr. Aflah holds Doctorate in Business Management from the University of Liverpool, MCIPS qualification from the Royal Chartered Institute – UK, and additional certifications in financial leadership and strategic planning.
