Dr Giulia Ness is a subject matter expert in inorganic scales and scale predictions. She is a chartered chemical engineer with 14 years’ experience in oil and gas production and operations and a PhD in flow assurance from Heriot-Watt University Edinburgh.

At the beginning of her career she worked for Baker Hughes upstream chemicals as a field engineer and account manager in Italy, North America and the UK.

After completing her PhD at Heriot-Watt University, she worked as an independent consultant for over 4 years and was involved in numerous projects around the globe.

In January this year she started a new role with OLI Systems as Senior Application Engineer, working on leading scale prediction technologies in the oil and gas industry, geothermal and other renewable sectors.

Giulia is an Honorary Fellow of Heriot-Watt University and collaborates with the Flow Assurance and Scale Team (FAST) JIP in Edinburgh.
