Batool A Akbar
Batool is a Contracts Engineer at Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), working within the cybersecurity and support domain. Her role focuses on enabling the successful delivery of IT projects, ensuring contractual compliance, and realizing strategic value from technology investments in alignment with KOC’s business objectives.
She currently serves as the Secretary of the K-Companies Cybersecurity Committee, supporting cross-company cybersecurity governance across KPC subsidiaries through coordination, facilitation, and alignment of joint initiatives and policies. She is also a member of the GCC Oil & Gas Cybersecurity Alliance Committee, contributing to regional collaboration and knowledge exchange to enhance cybersecurity resilience across the energy sector.
In parallel, Batool is the Coordinator for the K-Companies Diversity & Inclusion Sounding Board, supporting the alignment and execution of DEI initiatives across K-Companies. Previously, she served as the Secretary of the Diversity & Inclusion Steering Committee, contributing to its governance framework and stakeholder engagement during its early stages.
Batool brings diverse experience across the oil and gas value chain, having previously worked as a Planning Engineer in downstream operations at PIC, and currently supporting overseas KOC IT projects and contracts. This cross-functional exposure enables her to bridge business, technology, and governance perspectives to ensure IT and cybersecurity initiatives deliver measurable value.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Kuwait University and is PRINCE2-certified in Project Management.
