Steve is the IOGP Safety Director. Steve is seconded to IOGP from Shell.  He joined Shell in 1989 after completing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. 

Steve has over 30 years of experience in the Oil and Gas Industry that has been gained in a variety of operating environments and cultures.  Steve started his career in Well Engineering and has worked in Production and Projects and recently as HSSE Manager at Qatar Shell and Shell’s Global Upstream Operations. Before joining IOGP, Steve was the HSSE Manager for the construction, commissioning and start-up of the Pennsylvania Chemicals Project in the US.

Steve is married to Fiona and they have 3 children. When not at work, he enjoys spending time with family, keeping fit by playing sports and participating in organized running events; Steve has completed 3 marathons.
