Jon Hamill is a seasoned engineer, leader, and mentor with a deep passion for health, safety, and environmental (HSE) excellence in the upstream and carbon management energy sector. A career Oxy professional for over 20 years, Jon has taken on diverse assignments across the globe, including the Sultanate of Oman, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas, as well as leading Oxy’s Corporate HSE QA/QC Audit program.  In his current role as Vice President, Health, Safety and Risk Engineering, Jon oversees the enterprise-wide strategy and function for Oxy's global oil, gas, and carbon management businesses regarding Health, Safety, and Process Safety & Risk Engineering support within the "HSE Center of Excellence", Oxy’s strategic hub for technical safety, risk engineering expertise, operational support, workforce efficiencies, and performance improvement. His leadership helps drive a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across the organization. A fire protection and safety engineer by training, Jon holds three graduate degrees in occupational safety and health, global energy management, and natural gas engineering, and is currently pursuing his PhD in occupational safety and health from West Virgina University, underscoring his dedication to lifelong learning and industry advancement. Jon is also a licensed professional engineer (PE) and certified in project management and workplace safety.  Outside of work, Jon enjoys spending time outdoors – hunting, fishing, making ice cream, and playing sports – alongside his wonderful wife and three boys.
