Kåre Langaas is a Senior Advanced Reservoir Engineer at Aker BP. He holds a PhD in physics from the University of Bergen, completed in close collaboration with the University of Oxford. Langaas has 32 years of experience spanning reservoir technology research, reservoir engineering, field development, and reservoir management. He served as Chief Reservoir Engineer for Det Norske and Aker BP from 2015 to 2020 and has since worked as Principal Advisor for lower‑completion design and in‑well tracer technology. Langaas is the author or co‑author of more than 30 publications and was an SPE International Distinguished Lecturer in 2024/2025, focusing on optimal well design using inflow‑control technology.
