Subsurface knowledge is poised to make significant contributions to the energy transition, as will be demonstrated in this session. The papers presented will address crucial aspects, including multi-site CO2 storage on a regional scale, the geochemical interactions between sandstone and chalk minerals and carbonated water, and the synergy between underground hydrogen storage, extended oil recovery, and carbon storage in an active oil and gas reservoir.
