Director of the Center for Sustainable Future Technologies of the Italian Institute of Technology

Full Professor of Physics of Matter at Politecnico di Torino.

From 2011 to 2016 he was Director of the Center for Space Human Robotics of the Italian Institute of Technology. From 2024 he is Vice Rector for Research Infrastructure of Politecnico di Torino.

Main scientific interests:   Micro and nanodevices for energy and environment, Micro and nanotechnologies for smart manufacturing, Graphene and 2D materials for energy, bioenergy and environment (solar cells, supercapacitors, microbial fuel cells), Nanomaterials and nanostructures for CO2 trapping and reduction, Nanostructures for H2 trapping, H2 storage and use, Multifunctional materials for 3D printing.
