Alessandra Smit is a General Manager in Shell’s Global Upstream Business. Her teams excel in subsurface modelling and expertise and serve the entire Shell portfolio to deliver high quality subsurface descriptions. She is also the Global Chief Reservoir Engineer for Shell. Alessandra joined Shell with a degree in Aerospace Engineering from Delft University and an MBA from Tulane University. She worked in a variety of petroleum engineering and leadership roles from the UK North Sea to Deepwater in the US, to Australia’s LNG business and Southeast Asia.  She took on the role of Shell’s Chief Reservoir Engineer in January this year.  Alessandra cares deeply about technical excellence and diverse talent development in the Energy sector, especially while we collectively navigate a fast-changing global environment.
