Al Duerr is Founder and CEO of General Magnetic Canada Inc. (GMCI), a Partner in Carbon Connect International Inc., and Vice Chair of the Methane Emissions Leadership Alliance.  At GMCI he led the development and manufacture of clean tech products the implementation of which have resulted in approximately 900,000 tCO2e annual emissions reductions in Canada.  GMCI’s head office is in Calgary, Alberta, with a manufacturing subsidiary in China. GMCI is a Partner in Novalift, an O&G cleantech equipment and services company in Brazil, and has marketed its technologies in the US, South America, and the Middle East. He earned a BA in Geography from the University of Saskatchewan, an MBA from the Haskayne School at the University of Calgary, and served as the Mayor of Calgary for 12 years.
