Alaa Shbair

Alaa Shbair is a Senior Reservoir Engineer with over 10 years of experience in reservoir management and studies, specialising in field development planning, integrated reservoir performance reviews, and advanced drilling techniques. Her expertise includes water management strategies and machine learning–driven reservoir surveillance automation. She is a dedicated knowledge sharer, serving as an instructor and assessor for Reservoir Engineering Academies, and is actively involved in the ADNOC Target Leadership Program, the Gender Balance community, and various volunteering initiatives. A long-standing member of SPE, Alaa has authored more than 10 peer-reviewed publications and has contributed through roles in the SPE Abu Dhabi Section and water life cycle committees, while also serving as an IRM Champion. She holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering, a Master’s in Petroleum Engineering from Khalifa University, and a Master’s in Data Science from UCAM University, graduating with Magna Cum Laude distinction. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in Artificial Intelligence and Technology Management and continues to contribute her expertise as an author and volunteer through SPE and international events.
