Rami Esbai is an energy industry professional with nearly 12 years of experience at Bapco Upstream. As part of his role as head of innovation and value chain optimization, Rami is leading the company’s data science and AI engineering digital transformation team. Prior to this, he held the role of head of oil and gas production system modelling, coming from a background in production engineering.

Having a strong passion for developing analytical systems that improve production operations, Rami has developed and deployed multiple AI systems that are operational in Bahrain. He has also been involved in the Society of Petroleum Engineers, where he has published multiple papers and served on a variety of organizing committees. He holds a BEng degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Leeds, MBA from DePaul University, and is a PMP holder
